Terra Viva Institute of Brasil
Our organization aims to work on creating a healthy relationship between Brazilian society and nature, mainly through the promotion of community-based projects.
Mission
The Institute’s mission is to provide services to communities in all Brazilian biomes, working with environmental education and socio-environmental projects and contributing to reforestation through the cultivation of species of Brazilian flora, with special attention to species threatened with extinction.
Objectives
In order to fulfill its mission, the Institute provides services to local communities through socio-environmental projects in the areas of culture and environmental education, in addition to the use and development of technologies to improve the state of forest conservation in Brazil (recovery, restoration or rehabilitation of the environment). Our main objectives are:
- Promoting integrated and synergistic multi-purpose projects together with local communities to establish a culture of preservation and induced environmental regeneration.
- Contributing to technological and scientific development to improve the relationship between society and nature.
- Seeking to establish environmental governance through the debate and dissemination of ideas and actions in the environmental field.
Strategic vision
The Institute seeks to achieve the above objectives by creating Project Coordinations in two main areas: Socio-environmental Projects and Forestry Projects.
Joint action
The Institute partners with other similar institutions, keeping in mind its objectives and understanding the need, complexity and scale of environmental degradation in Brazil.
Promotion of environmental education
The Institute also prioritizes educational training for a better understanding of nature with the aim of creating a symbiosis between nature and culture in its projects, in addition to promoting an affectionate and respectful relationship to nature on the part of the people involved.
